Basketball Game Preview: Boylan Catholic Titans vs. Guilford Vikings

The Boylan Catholic Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Guilford Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Boylan Catholic has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Guilford will come in with three straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Boylan Catholic came up short against Freeport and fell 56-49.

Meanwhile, Guilford humbled Belvidere North with a 56-23 victory. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Guilford found their leader in freshman Baylee Sandine, who went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points along with six assists and four steals. That's the most assists Sandine has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah Burnett, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Boylan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Guilford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Boylan Catholic came up short against Guilford in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 58-51. Can Boylan Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
