Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Norwayne

Norwayne owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They blew past the Dalton Bulldogs 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Abby Workman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makenna Heyden, who fired off three home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Kylie Heyden was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Norwayne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dalton only posted a batting average of .160.

Norwayne pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Dalton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-9.

Coming up, Norwayne will head out to challenge Hillsdale at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. Dalton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
