Softball Recap: Brandon/Evansville Chargers vs. Parkers Prairie Panthers
Brandon/Evansville extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-9 in the process. They came up short against the Parkers Prairie Panthers, falling 10-4. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Parkers Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 8-6. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Parkers Prairie's part, Evy Grinager looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Grinager has posted since back in April.
On the hitting side, Anya Wagner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Helling, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Brandon/Evansville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkers Prairie, they will challenge Upsala at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
