Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt lost against Wilmer-Hutchins back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Roosevelt Mustangs were dealt a 74-24 defeat at the hands of the Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1316th, while the Eagles are ranked 530th).

Roosevelt dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wilmer-Hutchins, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-5.

Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Friday against Carter at 6:00 p.m. As for Wilmer-Hutchins, they will head out to take on Kimball at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilmer-Hutchins is facing Kimball at the right time seeing as Kimball is stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
