Softball Recap: Freedom Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Freedom had lost five games at home, but after bumping their record up to 8-15 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the East Burke Cavaliers. With that victory, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Englani Campbell was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadance Ward, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

As for East Burke, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it nine in a row.

On East Burke's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyndal Morrison, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Freedom has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Patton on the 25th. As for East Burke, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-3 defeat against Draughn on the 25th.
