Softball Game Preview: Tylertown Chiefs vs. Salem Wildcats

The Tylertown Chiefs will challenge the Salem Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tylertown has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with six straight losses, while Salem will come in with four straight wins.

On Thursday, Tylertown came up short against Our Lady Academy and fell 16-11. Even if the Chiefs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Salem posted their closest win since February 22nd on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sacred Heart, sneaking past 5-3.

Salem's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tylertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1.
