Recap: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Godley Wildcats
The Ferris Yellowjackets were the 61-51 winner over the Godley Wildcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Ferris took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Godley on Tuesday.
Josiah Harris and Jordan Texada certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Harris dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Texada scored 14 points along with two steals. Harris hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua B mcgee, who scored eight points.
Ferris was without their leading scorer, Julio Morales, in Tuesday's match. With Morales sitting this one out, Omari Tyner got some extra time on the court (four vs. his season average of 1.75).
Ferris' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Godley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-19.
Ferris will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kennedale at 7:00 p.m. Kennedale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 855 points over their last 11 matchups. Godley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Venus at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Godley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
