Softball Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Oakland couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Regis Rams on Wednesday. If the Oakers were looking for revenge after losing 14-7 to the Rams when the teams met back in March of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ella Whittaker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gwen Field, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Oakland's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Regis, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2.

As of now, neither Oakland nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
