Basketball Game Preview: Fairborn Skyhawks vs. Xenia Buccaneers

The Fairborn Skyhawks will head out to face off against the Xenia Buccaneers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fairborn is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Troy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fairborn lost 67-45 to Troy. The Skyhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Xenia came up short against Oakwood on Tuesday, falling 69-49. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 639th, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 165th).

Fairborn's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Xenia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Fairborn didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Xenia when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 71-67 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairborn since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
