Softball Recap: Whitnall Comes Up Short

Whitnall extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-7 in the process. They lost 9-1 to the Oak Creek Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 10-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Oak Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Oak Creek, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Oak Creek's part, Aly Skrobis was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Skrobis was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kennedy Christopher was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rita Sippy, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases and three runs.

Coming up, Whitnall will challenge Cudahy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Packers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.33 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oak Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Kenosha Tremper at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
