Last Wednesday, North Pitt was able to grind out a solid victory over Greene Central, taking the game 51-40. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly 11 points.

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Zihanna Lightfoot and An'Nysha Wooten. Lightfoot had a great game and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 22 boards. Meanwhile, Wooten did her best for the losing side, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, SouthWest Edgecombe entered their tilt with West Craven on Thursday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They skirted past the Eagles 51-48. The 51-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

SouthWest Edgecombe found their leader in sophomore Kdeidria Collins, who went 10 of 24 on her way to 23 points along with eight boards and three steals. The match was Collins' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Whitehead, who posted 12 points and four steals.

SouthWest Edgecombe pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for North Pitt, they have also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North Pitt has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.4 boards per game. However, it's not like SouthWest Edgecombe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
