Basketball Recap: Kirkwood Comes Up Short

Kirkwood lost against Webster Groves back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kirkwood Pioneers received a blow as they fell 58-41 to the Webster Groves Statesmen. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Statesmen are ranked 115th).

Kirkwood's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Webster Groves, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Webster Groves beat Kirkwood by a score of 58-41 on Saturday.
