Preview: Overton Eagles vs. Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood]
Overton has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. The Overton Eagles and Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] will face off on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Overton will be strutting in after a win while Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Overton didn't have too much trouble with Maxwell on the road as they won 62-45. The win was just what Overton needed coming off of a 66-35 loss in their prior match.
Overton found their leader in underclassman Brock McCarter, who scored 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCarter has scored all season. Eli Luther was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood]'s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Arapahoe 56-51.
Overton's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood], they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Overton couldn't quite finish off Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 67-65. Can Overton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
