Softball Recap: Johansen Takes a Loss

Johansen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Beyer Patriots, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 back in March.

Johansen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Ibanez Soto, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Isabelle Cardenas also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Johansen's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Beyer, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johansen will face off against Ceres at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Beyer, they will take on Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
