Basketball Recap: Menaul Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, Menaul was not quite Bosque's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell 60-52 to the Bosque Bobcats. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 65-50 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bosque to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliver Tumolo, who went 8 for 16 to rack up 17 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Tumolo a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Wilson, who went 7 of 16 en route to 18 points and six rebounds.

Menaul's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Bosque, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Menaul will take on Oak Grove Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Grove Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season. As for Bosque, they will square off against Cottonwood Classical Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bosque is facing Cottonwood Classical Prep at the right time seeing as Cottonwood Classical Prep is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
