Baseball Recap: Heritage Finds Home Field Redemption Against Valor Christian

There's no place like home for Heritage, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against Valor Christian on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. With that victory, Heritage brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Jaden McKinney looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryant Buelow was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James Long, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Valor Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, Heritage will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Fossil Ridge at 12:00 p.m. As for Valor Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against ThunderRidge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
