Basketball Recap: Huntington Wins Going Away Against Nelsonville-York

Huntington had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point drubbing they dealt Nelsonville-York on Tuesday. The Huntington Huntsmen were the clear victor by a 54-28 margin over the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes. Given the Huntsmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Buckeyes are ranked 546th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Defeat or not, Nelsonville-York got some senior leadership from Megan Booth and Alayna Okulich. Booth posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks, while Okulich had ten points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. Okulich has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.

Huntington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Nelsonville-York, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Huntington has already played their next game, a 40-34 victory against Zane Trace on the 5th. As for Nelsonville-York, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-40 loss against Athens on the 6th.
