Baseball Game Preview: Olympia Titans vs. Palm Harbor University Hurricanes

The Olympia Titans will challenge the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Olympia didn't have quite enough to beat Timber Creek and fell 4-3. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Jack Riley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Olympia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Rathmann, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palm Harbor University). They never let Zephyrhills get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hurricanes needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Palm Harbor University is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Olympia, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
