League recap: Winner tops Platte/Geddes/Dakota Christian to extend winning streak

Big Dakota recap Sept. 26, 2012

Winner extended the longest winning streak in Big Dakota this week by beating Platte/Geddes/Dakota Christian, 47-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Winner took down the Black Panthers 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tanner Fritz threw for 47 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 21 yards in the win.

Dan Aaker's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ben Connot chipped in 115 yards. Shayden Drey helped Winner's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.

Kyle Bertram was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors bested Platte/Geddes/Dakota Christian. Bertram tallied one reception for 37 yards.

Winner's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Fritz has thrown for 222 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Bertram has five catches for 117 yards. Connot leads the league in rushing with 509 yards.

The top two teams in Big Dakota will face off this week when first place Winner takes on second place Mobridge-Pollock. Last week, Winner beat Tracy Hirt's team, while Mobridge-Pollock lost to Webster.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Warriors take on the Tigers. Winner's offense has scored 201 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Mobridge-Pollock has allowed only 90 on the year.

Chamberlain made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,591 from 8,349.
