Basketball Recap: Decatur Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Decatur won the last time they faced Bridgeport, and Javen Colbert did his part to make sure it happened again. The Decatur Eagles claimed a resounding 85-44 victory over the Bridgeport Bulls thanks in part to Colbert, who went 15 of 25 on his way to 40 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Kaceson Ore was another key player, putting up five points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for Bridgeport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13.

Decatur will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Castleberry at 7:30 p.m. Decatur knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Castleberry likes a good challenge. Bridgeport has already played their next match (against Eagle Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
