Softball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Black Knights vs. Happy Valley Warriors
Chuckey-Doak won against Johnson County on Monday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Black Knights beat the Happy Valley Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-11. The victory continues a trend for the Black Knights in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.
Jayden Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Myers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Chuckey-Doak got a massive performance out of Hayden Kenney, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Kenney a new career-high. Kendra Percell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Chuckey-Doak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.
