Recap: Ryan Raiders vs. Lake Belton Broncos

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ryan Raiders had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Lake Belton 38-13. Ryan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

The team won by holding Lake Belton to a paltry no rushing yards and no passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Ryan's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 12 times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Errol West and Uzziah Warmate who racked up nine sacks between them.

Despite the loss, Lake Belton still got an impressive performance from Micah Hudson, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hudson has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last five times he's played.

The victory was the third in a row for Ryan, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.33 points. As for Lake Belton, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Ryan will face off against Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Abilene is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games. Lake Belton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
