Recap: Lampasas Badgers vs. Davenport Wolves

The Lampasas Badgers lost against the Davenport Wolves back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lampasas took a serious blow against Davenport, falling 56-21. It was the first time this season that Lampasas let down their fans at home.

Lampasas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Haegan Oncken, who picked up 159 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Jerome, who threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Davenport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Triston Hamlin out in front who threw for 363 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Hamlin is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Barrett Fallon, who rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns.

Davenport's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Ryan Howe and Gianni Evans-williams who racked up five sacks between them.

Lampasas' loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Davenport, the victory was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lampasas will take on Marble Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marble Falls is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Davenport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burnet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burnet is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
