Basketball Recap: Southwest Atlanta Christian Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Southwest Atlanta Christian came tearing into Monday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 70-21 win over Utopian Academy for the Arts. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Southwest Atlanta Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sasha Joseph led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and 19 boards. Joseph is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 16 or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicora Patrick, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 16 boards.

Southwest Atlanta Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Southwest Atlanta Christian's victory bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Utopian Academy for the Arts, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
