If Peru wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Kokomo, they should've done a better job of containing Eliana Stewart. The Wildkats walked away with a 50-43 win over the Tigers on Thursday for which the team can thank Stewart, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Stewart is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacey Boswell, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 15 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Boswell now owns an excellent 48.1% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Addie Robbins, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Kokomo and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Looking ahead, Kokomo will head out to challenge Lewis Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Peru, they will welcome Rochester at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
