Softball Recap: Woodbridge Takes a Loss

Woodbridge and Arlington squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Woodbridge had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4.

Mia Tamkoc spent all 12.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 16 hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Payton Harris was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-6 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Hafner E was another key player, going 4-for-6 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Woodbridge's loss dropped their record down to 12-10-2. As for Arlington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Woodbridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arlington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
