Preview: Richfield Tigers vs. Hagerman Pirates

Richfield is 9-1 against Hagerman since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Richfield Tigers will be playing at home against the Hagerman Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Richfield suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 two weeks ago. They were the victim of a rough 61-40 defeat at the hands of Murtaugh. Richfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hagerman had to suffer through a rough 76-49 loss at the hands of Camas County. While losing is never fun, Hagerman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Camas County is ranked 16th).

Despite the loss, Hagerman got a solid performance out of Ky Kendall, who scored 17 points along with three steals and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Kendall posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Johnson, who scored eight points along with three steals.

Hagerman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Richfield has fallen quite a ways from their 23-5 record last season and are now at 1-9. As for Hagerman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Richfield strolled past Hagerman in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 53-38. Does Richfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hagerman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
