Baseball Recap: Columbian Tornadoes vs. Huron Tigers

Columbian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Huron Tigers, falling 13-4. If the Tornadoes were looking for revenge after losing 9-6 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jaxon Little was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. Little was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Isaiah Tilse was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jamison Woessner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Columbian's record now sits at 0-4. As for Huron, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Columbian will host Liberty-Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Huron, they will head out on the road to take on Norwalk at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
