Basketball Recap: Hickory Grove Christian's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Hickory Grove Christian came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 55-42 victory over the Lee Park Prep Knights on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-37 back in November.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hickory Grove Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Bradley, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points. Bradley's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Gavin Kiser was another key player, putting up seven points and 13 rebounds.

Hickory Grove Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Lee Park Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole O' Donoghue, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Winkles, who posted six points and three steals.

Hickory Grove Christian's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Lee Park Prep, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Hickory Grove Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-53 defeat against Westminster Catawba Christian on the 6th. As for Lee Park Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-29 victory against Carolina Christian on the 6th.
