Soccer Game Preview: Mattawan vs. Lakeview

The Mattawan Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Lakeview Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mattawan is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Gull Lake on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Mattawan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Gull Lake are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Lakeview fell victim to Portage Central and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.
