Softball Game Preview: Heyworth Hornets vs. El Paso-Gridley Titans

The Heyworth Hornets will square off against the El Paso-Gridley Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Heyworth and four for El Paso-Gridley.

Heyworth fell victim to Eureka and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to Eureka. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Heyworth has suffered since April 26, 2024.

Heyworth saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paylin Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, El Paso-Gridley came up short against LeRoy on Friday, falling 19-2.

El Paso-Gridley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Heyworth, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Heyworth skirted past El Paso-Gridley 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
