Basketball Recap: Kimbo Denney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cheyenne/Reydon over Canute

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cheyenne/Reydon can now relate to. They fell just short of the Canute Trojans by a score of 29-27 on Saturday. The Bears have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Cheyenne/Reydon's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimbo Denney, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kinley Goad, who put up six points.

Cheyenne/Reydon's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Canute, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Cheyenne/Reydon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canute, they will challenge Seiling at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Seiling sitting on four straight wins and Canute on three.
