VANCOUVER, Wash. -
Mountain View (Vancouver, Wash.) saw its 20-point lead dwindle to seven, but still managed to hang on and defeat
Columbia River (Vancouver, Wash.) 34-27 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Thunder led 20-7 at the half.
Mountain View grew its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. MV's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Nicholas Wright.
The loss snapped Columbia River's four-game winning streak.
The Chieftains came in giving up 16.9 points per game this season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Columbia River, which notched a 40-0 victory over Hudson's Bay in its previous outing.
