Baseball Game Preview: Toledo Indians vs. Rainier Mountaineers

For the second straight game, Toledo will face off against Rainier. The Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Mountaineers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Toledo's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Rainier's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Toledo is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Rainier on Wednesday. They fell 5-2 to the Mountaineers.

For Rainier's part, Peyton Sheaffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Yazama Gurnsey was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Wyatt Cughan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Rainier's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Toledo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
