New Mexico Military Institute entered their tilt with Ruidoso on Saturday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Warriors 10-1. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Tegin Maloney made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Javier Yepiz Galindo was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Grant Maloney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

New Mexico Military Institute pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ruidoso, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.

New Mexico Military Institute will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair will be back at it again later today.
