Basketball Game Preview: MacArthur Highlanders vs. El Reno Indians

The MacArthur Highlanders will head out to take on the El Reno Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, MacArthur turned things around against Lawton on Friday. They breezed by the Wolverines to the tune of 68-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Highlanders have posted since December 3, 2024.

Meanwhile, El Reno put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Choctaw with a 42-37 win. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

MacArthur's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for El Reno, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

MacArthur barely slipped by El Reno when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 51-50. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was El Reno's Emmary Elizondo, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds.
