Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Gilroy Mustangs
Lincoln is 3-0 against Gilroy since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lincoln Lions' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Gilroy Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Lincoln sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over San Jose.
It was another big night for Caleb Hooks, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lincoln's points. Mussie Yimer was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gilroy came up short against Palma on Thursday and fell 49-36. While losing is never fun, Gilroy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 937th, while Palma is ranked 384th).
Lincoln now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Gilroy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Gilroy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 51-38. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does Gilroy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
