Baseball Game Preview: Hart County Raiders vs. Larue County Hawks

Hart County is 0-10 against Larue County since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Raiders will square off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m.

Hart County is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Allen County-Scottsville.

Austin Martin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Larue County entered their tilt with Campbellsville on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Eagles. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

Lucas Thompson and Brayden Singleton did most of the damage at the plate: Thompson went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Singleton went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Singleton a new career-high. Ryan Hughes was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Larue County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campbellsville only posted an OBP of .320.

Larue County pushed their record up to 17-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hart County, they now have a losing record of 11-12-1.

Hart County suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Larue County when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
