Softball Recap: Laguna Creek Takes a Loss

Laguna Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the Monterey Trail Mustangs. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Laguna Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Laguna Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Monterey Trail, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Laguna Creek is taking a road trip to take on Vanden at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monterey Trail, they will be playing at home against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
