Softball Game Preview: Grosse Ile Devils vs. Flat Rock Rams

Grosse Ile is 1-9 against Flat Rock since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Devils will welcome the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Grosse Ile has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grosse Ile made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Milan, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Devils fell just short of the Big Reds by a score of 11-9 on Monday.

Charlie McCarthy and Marian McCarthy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Charlie went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Marian went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was Marian's first of the season. Malayna Jarnot was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Flat Rock's offense. They came up short against Riverview on Monday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Flat Rock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Neace, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Flat Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Grosse Ile, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
