Volleyball Recap: Tolman Tigers vs. Taunton Tigers

Tolman proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Taunton 3-2.

Tolman took Taunton into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-22, 20-25, 19-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Jim Terry Bornelus paced Tolman's offense, picking up 17 kills. Bornelus got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 45 assists. Finally, Hayson Ortiz kept Tolman's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Despite the loss, Taunton still got an impressive performance from Dantae Bauer, who had 24 digs and three assists. With that strong performance, Bauer is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Tolman's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Taunton, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.

Tolman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Barrington on the 10th. As for Taunton, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Barnstable on the 12th.
