Basketball Recap: Dr. Joaquin Garcia Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Dr. Joaquin Garcia and Atlantic squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Dr. Joaquin Garcia had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 72-58 to the Atlantic Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-53 back in December of 2024.

Atlantic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathan Richard led the charge by going 8 for 15 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was James Tillman, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points and five boards.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Atlantic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atlantic, they will square off against Blanche Ely on Friday. One thing working in Atlantic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games.
