Softball Recap: Vina Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Vina had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Phillips Bears. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 9-2 win on Tuesday.

Lana Bell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Vina got a massive performance out of Harleigh Ridge, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Ridge has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Braxtyn Quinn, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Vina was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Vina's record is now 13-17. As for Phillips, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Vina will take on Red Bay in a tournament on Friday. As for Phillips, they will take on Shoals Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
