Football Recap: Okemos Takes a Loss

Okemos was the 21-14 winner over Coldwater when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves were outmatched by the Cardinals and fell 42-7. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Blake Burke threw for 101 yards on 13 of 20 attempts. Atticus Joy was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards. On the ground, Marshaun Hallums rushed for 55 yards.

Okemos has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Coldwater, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Okemos will face off against DeWitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests. As for Coldwater, they will challenge Hastings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
