Baseball Recap: Meeker's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cedaredge, Meeker was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Grand Valley Cardinals get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Cowboys: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Not much got past Carson Klinzmann, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Grand Valley off the board. Klinzmann has become a key player for Meeker: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 4-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Meeker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Halstead, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The win snapped Meeker's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-13 record. As for Grand Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.

Coming up, Meeker will challenge Olathe at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
