Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. Dixon

Sterling hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Golden Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Dukes & Duchesses at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sterling was handed a seven-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Monmouth-Roseville 2-1.

Natalie Scarbough was the driving force of Sterling's attack as she scored both of Sterling's goals, bringing her season total up to six goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Dixon made sure to put some goals up on the board against Mendota on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Trojans a 6-0 shutout. Dixon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by three goals or more this season.

Dixon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 53 goals over those ten contests. As for Sterling, their win bumped their record up to 4-17.
