Volleyball Game Preview: Holcomb Longhorns vs. Ulysses Tigers

The Holcomb Longhorns will venture away from home to square off against the Ulysses Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holcomb will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Holcomb was able to grind out a solid win over Scott, taking the game 2-0.

While Holcomb won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Ulysses came up short against Wichita County on Monday and fell 3-1. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-14 in the first set.

Ulysses started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

This is the second loss in a row for Ulysses and nudges their season record down to 10-17-1. As for Holcomb, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.

Holcomb was able to grind out a solid win over Ulysses when the teams last played last Saturday, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
