Recap: Pathway Christian vs. Quad Cities Christian Eagles
Pathway Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Quad Cities Christian 61-24. Pathway Christian has not had much luck with Quad Cities Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Denver Nelson and Ryker Miller certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Nelson scored five points along with four steals, while Miller scored ten points.
Quad Cities Christian was led to victory by Cobie Becker-Paradiso and Seth Karl. Becker-Paradiso scored 17 points along with two blocks, while Karl scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals. Becker-Paradiso hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Andrew Madden, who scored six points.
Pathway Christian bumped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Quad Cities Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pathway Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Galesburg Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Quad Cities Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against East Moline United at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Moline United presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Quad Cities Christian in Illinois (East Moline United is ranked 124th, while Quad Cities Christian is ranked 300th).
