Softball Recap: Cimarron Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Cimarron was riding high fresh off their 11-4 takedown of Lakin on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluejays fell just short of the Broncs by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncs earlier this season, when they won 11-4.

Quinn Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Cimarron saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yesenia Garfio, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another was Brenna Hayes, who went 1-for-5 with one triple and one run.

Cimarron's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Lakin, their record is now 7-11.

Coming up, Cimarron will face off against Hugoton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.2 runs per game on average), something the Bluejays will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakin, they will challenge Holcomb at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
