Basketball Game Preview: Gold-Burg Bears vs. Forestburg Longhorns

Gold-Burg hasn't had much luck against Forestburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gold-Burg Bears will square off against the Forestburg Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Gold-Burg took a blow against Midway, falling 86-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (57), the Bears still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Forestburg entered their game against Saint Jo on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Forestburg took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saint Jo.

Gold-Burg will need focus on slowing down Jesse Wadsworth, one of several Forestburg players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points. Wadsworth's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Sanchez, who earned 11 points.

Gold-Burg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Forestburg, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.

Gold-Burg suffered a grim 63-43 defeat to Forestburg in their previous matchup back in January. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Gold-Burg was down 36-15.
